Independence's Riverview Park is home to a biker/boater campground for travelers on the Willamette River Water Trail and the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway. Nestled along the beautiful Willamette River and is 1 block away from a bustling downtown district with local food, drink, and entertainment, this basic camping area has five sites, each with a picnic table and bike rack. A (cold) shower is located at the west end of the area in a white fenced enclosure. A water tap and bike repair station are located at the entrance to the camping area. A camp host is present during the summer to assist campers and provide information about the area. WiFi is also available in the campground with a code provided by the Camp Host. A camp site costs $10 per night and is first come first served.

The campground is exclusively for bicyclists and boaters and was funded through Cycle Oregon and a Recreation Trails Grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. Overnight vehicle parking is not allowed in Riverview Park. The campground is closed annually for the 4th of July weekend and rarely for other community events. Please contact the City prior to your visit for the most up to date information on availability of the campground.

To get to the Independence Biker/Boater Campground from the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway, cross the Independence Bridge from the east side of the Willamette River to the west side. At the bottom of the bridge turn right onto Main Street, which will take you into downtown Independence. Go straight (north) through the three way stop downtown and take your first right onto C Street. Follow C Street to the river and then head north through the amphitheater parking lot, past the playground and to the grassy field with the campground kiosk and bike repair station at its entrance. If you are using a GPS, the address 50 South C Street, Independence, OR 97351 should get you to the park.
