With over 660,000 annual visitors, Roger Williams Park Zoo is Rhode Island’s number one outdoor family and tourist destination. At this 40-acre Zoo, visitors will discover over 100 rare and fascinating animal species including African elephant, giraffes, moon bears, snow leopards, flamingos, harbor seals, timber rattlesnakes, and more in naturalistic enclosures.
The Zoo offers many resources to provide fun activities to connect kids and their families with the outdoors. Children can explore nature in Hasbro’s Our Big Backyard, the CVS All Kids Can Treehouse, and Beyond the Fence. They can also become farmers at the interactive play areas in the Alex and Ani Farmyard.
Open year-round, the Zoo features free parking, seasonal activities, gift shops and concessions, family-friendly programs, and special evening events, like the nationally acclaimed Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, scheduled throughout the year.
In addition, the Zoo participates in collaborative conservation and breeding programs to help ensure the future survival of threatened and endangered species both locally and around the world.
The Zoo is open from 10am - 4pm October through March, and 10am - 5pm from April - September. The last entry is a half hour before closing.
Admission is $14.95 for adults, $12.95 for seniors (62+), and $9.95 for children (2-12). Toddlers age one and younger, and RWP Zoo members enter for free. January and February feature half-priced admission during the Winter Wonder Days discount.
