The Chester County Historical Society, South Carolina, operate two museums in the City of Chester.
Our Historical Society Museum and Archives, housed in the 1914 Chester County Jail is located at 107 McAliley Street, Chester, SC 29706. We house one of the largest Native American Projectile Point Collections in the SE USA. An impressive long gun collection, military collection, WBTS collection, textile collection, rare Catawba Pottery, the "Aaron Burr Bench," and more. The Henry O. Nichols Photography Collection is housed in our Archives and is part of the South Carolina Digital Library (scmemory.org) and the National Public Digital Library (ndpl). Hours of Operation: Tuesday - Saturday 10am -3pm EST.

Chester County Transportation Museum is housed in the 1888 Seaboard Freight Depot and houses an eclectic collection of cars and buggys including "Grandma," a 1921 LaFrance fiiretruck used here in Chester for many years, 1925 Ford School Bus, and much more!
