Welcome to the Russian Banya of Dallas, the only one of its kind in all Texas. There are 3 saunas, all with various heats, but the heart of our place is the Russian Banya, (220 deg), the only facility in the TX that is open to the public and heated by a wood burning stove (the others are by gas). The benefits of the heat: The excessive heat sweating, thus removing unwanted materials form the blood and improving the work of the kidneys. Sweating releases excess water and sale and opens up the skins pores, cleaning it and making it softer and fresher. The process rids the muscles of excess lactic acid which relieves muscle fatigue and soreness. (our clientele includes local pro hockey players, boxers, MMA Fighters). WE also have a Turkish Steam room at 110 deg and 100% humidity and a Finnish dry sauna at 180 deg 10% humidity.
You can’t go to a banya without witnessing a flogging session called a venik treatment. This is a massage with bunches of oak or birch twings soaked in warm water. This releases stress and is very good for the skin, as it exfoliates the skin. It's a ritual known for its healing powers. While it looks like a beating, its actually a calming effect, with a rhythmic slapping that almost puts one in a trance. But the sauna is only the 1st step in the process. The next one takes a little more guts and adventurism. The COLD PLUNGE.
If the sauna opens up and massages the pores, you will need something to close them old time people would simply jump in a lake or roll around in the snow. Being in Dallas, that's hard to do, so we give you the cold plunge. The 170 deg difference between the sauna and his 42 deg barrel of ice water is here for that reason. It massages the blood vessels and eliminates toxins (shot of a jumping in for sec and screaming). This also lowers the body temp, and invigorates and gets the blood flowing.
We also have a restaurant where our guests treated with world famous Slavic Hospitality. Join us for Lunch or dinner Eastern- European Style, served promptly in relaxing and warm atmosphere. For your good taste, we offer you extraordinary world of flavors Russian, Ukrainian, Uzbek, Georgian and other European dishes made from scratch. Our restaurant seats about 120 people and have a stage, latest music and video equipment. It can be a great place for your next Special Event or Celebration.
