First Night Alexandria is a celebration of the new year through the performing arts on December 31. There are children's activities throughout the afternoon and beginning at 7:00 pm there are more than 150 performances in 25 indoor venues and an outdoor dance party in the street beginning at 10:00 pm leading up to fabulous fireworks over the Potomac River at midnight.
Stroll the streets of this authentic historic city. All the venues are within an easy walkable 17 block area. While the venues are alcohol-free, Alexandria's many restaurants are open and welcome you to stop in for a beverage or bite to eat.
