Nestled in the rolling checkered hills of the Shenandoah Valley, an area rich in Virginia history, is the historic1852 heart-of-pine farmhouse build by Jacob Swartz for his new bride Lucinda Zirkle. Steeped in history this historic house was well documented by Jacob; from building costs to items pillaged by Federal troops under the command of General George Armstrong Custer.
The Swartz family home and Jacob's river-bluff cobbler shop, has evolved into a secluded and inviting guest cottage for today's traveler, standing peacefully at the very end of a tree lined country lane overlooking the Shenandoah River's North Fork. This charming two bedroom, two bath cottage with a full kitchen, sunroom, screen porch, living room and private terrace belongs solely to you, as you are our only guest.
A sumptuous full breakfast is served at your leisure in the cottage or weather permitting on your own river-bluff terrace. Breakfasts are hearty and individually prepared. We use only the freshest ingredients and buy locally whenever possible. Warmer weather brings and abundance of local fruits and vegetables and provide endless opportunities for us to create the perfect breakfast.
