Vashon Island, the Heart of the Sound!

Nestled close to Seattle and Tacoma, Vashon Island is truly the Heart of the Sound. With 45 miles of shoreline has water and mountain views at every corner. Vashon-Maury Island is approximately 13 miles long and eight miles at the widest point (as big as Manhattan but twice as wide) with a year-round population of about 11,000. It can only be reached by a breathtakingly beautiful ferry ride and is a "build your own adventure destination" for those willing to explore.

Visitors will find interesting places to stay, quaint shops to visit, an eclectic mix of excellent restaurants, local artists and galleries, historical sites, musical concerts, farm stands to visit, wineries, cider makers, places to hike, places to bike/mountain bike and ride your horse. You can also enjoy the water by renting a kayak or SUP or sail in and dock at one of our marinas. The pace is slower, the people are friendlier, the attitudes are relaxed, with a patchwork of pastoral and natural settings Vashon is a refreshing Northwest getaway.
