An iconic piece of English heritage and important Bristol landmark, the Clifton Observatory which is located high up on Clifton Down and above the Avon Gorge is a must-see attraction for tourists and local residents.
Originally built in 1766, it was used as a mill before it was partially destroyed in 1777 and left derelict until 1828.

Complete with one of the only Camera Obscuras open to the public in the UK and the Giant's cave, it offers truly breath taking views of the Clifton suspension bridge, the city of Bristol and outstanding panoramic views of the Avon Gorge.
