We offer fun and family-friendly walking tours of historic Cambridge. Our most popular tour lasts two hours and usually includes a visit to at least one of the famous colleges.
In a typical tour we will visit one or two of the famous colleges and see several more from the outside. You will hear about the about the many famous names that have lived inside their walls. We will also include sites of world importance such as the Old Cavendish Laboratory, which has 29 Nobel Prize winners.
Our tours also give the history of the town and its people through the centuries. We will see the oldest church in the county, St Bene't's and the church which is known as the cradle of the English reformation, St Edward King and Martyr. We will also visit the famous Eagle pub, where young airmen in World War II wrote their squadron numbers on the ceiling. In a town packed with medieval buildings, there are also one or two ghosts we can tell you about. If ghosts are your thing, we offer a one hour, spooky evening ghost tour.
We also offer one hour introductory tours of the Fitzwilliam Museum. This short tour will show you some key exhibits you might otherwise miss and give you a feel for the main galleries and their contents.
As official guides we are expected to work with a maximum group size of 20. This is the limit set by the colleges for group visits to their buildings and grounds. But it is also a sensible, practical limit. It is difficult for more than 20 people to crowd around one guide and hear what is being said.
Above all, we want our clients to have a fun and enjoyable tour experience. We are very happy to tailor any tour to specific interests or requirements.
