Peterborough Milton Golf club, designed by the famous James Braid and opened in 1938 is a fine, well-established, picturesque 6560 yard par 71 parkland course on the Fitzwilliam Estate. Many of the holes are played in full view of Milton Hall with the original clubhouse still remaining at the rear of the 13th green.

Leading off the main car park, herbaceous flower beds border the elevated 1st tee. The ten acre developed practice ground runs parallel to the left of the 1st fairway which coupled with lake temptation across the 1st and down the side of the 18th fairway makes a challenging start and end to this course. There are four individual Par 3’s with well guarded or two tier greens and the three par 5’s require a degree of accuracy to negotiate fairway hazards. The eleven remaining par 4’s offer differing challenges both in length, features and hazards. Many of the holes are tree-lined requiring accuracy and well-thought course management. The highlight of the course is the stroke 1 Par 4 10th hole, named Cotton’s Fancy, after Henry Cotton who considered this as one of the best dog-leg left holes he played. Our Course Manager and his team of Greenkeepers present the course that is a challenge and delight to play for both members and visitors of all standards. At the rear of the 9th green our privately owned ‘Halfway House’ offers a full range of hot and cold beverages and snacks.

Our membership forms the centre of the club. Playing memberships at competitive fees are available for seven or five day memberships together with very competitive fees for students and juniors. We offer a full competitive competition programme for all sections along with interclub league and friendly matches.
Social membership is also available which includes the full use of the clubhouse facilities, driving range and practice ground. All categories of membership enjoy ample parking facilities, discounted bar and catering prices. Our social events offer a varied programme of entertainment throughout the year together with regular popular Friday Quiz nights during the Winter.

Green fees are available all year round offering seasonal rates and promotions. Visitors are encouraged to take the opportunity of playing the course both weekdays and weekends (seasonal).
Societies and Corporate golf days are welcome. 18, 27 or 36 holes are available with varied catering options from all day breakfast to three course dinners. Whether it is a group of friends, a society, or a corporate business Peterborough Milton Golf Club can tailor your day at competitive prices for an enjoyable experience. Groups of 8 or more can be accommodated. We also offer a varied ‘Open’ programme to suit all ages and gender.

As a backdrop to the 18th green, the clubhouse and seasonal patio provides a comfortable environment for relaxation for members and visitors. A wide range of services are available throughout the day including morning coffees, afternoon teas, menus for freshly cooked home-made bar snacks, restaurant dining, all accompanied by a well stocked bar. Sunday lunches are available throughout the year. Our Clubhouse services also extend to social events, private parties/functions, small weddings, anniversary celebrations and Sunday lunches. The club is ideally situated to host small meetings and seminars offering a relaxing atmosphere away from the business environment.

Our resident team of PGA Professionals offer expert advice, tuition, repairs and services to meet the needs of members and visitors in a relaxing environment. The Professional’s shop is fully stocked with branded names of clothing, clubs and accessories all at competitive prices. They have a wealth of experience in teaching/coaching all standards of player. They place particular importance on keeping the lesson simple and helping students develop sound fundamentals in all departments of their game. All coaching takes place on the fully developed/landscaped 10 acre practice ground, driving range and putting green sited adjacent to the clubhouse. . From Spring 2017, an in-door practice and coaching facility will be available as part of a newly extended Professional Shop offering the latest simulator technology.

The club is located to the west of Peterborough, 3 miles from the city centre. There is easy access from the A1 or west, proceeding via A47. Follow signs for Ailsworth, Castor and Golf Club. From A47 Peterborough city centre or east, take slip road off A47 signposted Ailsworth, Castor, Marholm and Golf Club.
