Camping on the Garrison is by far one of the best ways to experience the beauty and magic of Scilly, escaping the demands of today’s “fast, modern” world and relaxing amongst the abundance of birds, butterflies and wildlife that guarantees to entertain and delight .
Here on our 9.5 acre site, you will enjoy the friendly, relaxed atmosphere , the degree of intimacy & privacy that the site layout offers and with all the advancements in today’s camping equipment, it makes it so easy to get closer to the outdoors & escape the constraints of modern living. The site is small enough to be intimate & personal, yet large enough to retreat into a quiet corner & remain anonymous if desired—the choice is yours. Many campers return year on year, making new friendships & renewing old ones.
The site has a mixture of superb views, well sheltered , various sized enclosures where Al Fresco dining can be enjoyed at its best—there’s nothing like the smell of a barbeque, eating outdoors & enjoying a glorious sunset on the Garrison. Open fires are NOT allowed on site under any circumstances.
The Campsite shop and reception is next to the main entrance to the site. We provide all the essentials (bread, milk, cereals, chilled/frozen foods, beer/ wine, confectionary, biscuits & snacks) as well as most types of Camping gas & camping accessories. Other facilities available include WiFi, mobile phone/laptop charging, ice pack freezing, communal picnic benches, 2 toilet blocks with showers, WC’s, washbasins, hairdryers and shaver points as well as washing up & laundry facilities .
We have 10 pitches with electric hook ups that can be reserved in advance, if required.
We can transport your luggage from the Scillonian and can tow trailers up to the site, taking them back at the end of your holiday. We have some storage space available for equipment sent in advance, but please let us know it is on it’s way! There are trolleys available at reception to move your tents & equipment to your pitch.
Dogs are permitted on the campsite but we have a strict limit of one dog per party. We also have a limit on the number of dogs on the site at any one time, so it is essential to arrange this with us prior to arrival. Dogs must be kept on a lead on the Campsite and must not cause a nuisance by barking or fouling.
Children under 16 years are not allowed to camp unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Young people 16—18 years of age may camp by prior agreement & must have a letter from their parents/guardians accepting full responsibility for them and their actions/behaviour. They are not allowed to stay in a Readi-Tent.
No cars are allowed on site.
We have some pre-erected , fully equipped tents on site that can be booked for up to a maximum of 4 people per tent. Our Readi-Tents are spacious family tents with sleeping compartments, a living area and are equipped with air beds, cooker and cooking equipment, table and chairs, pots, pans, plates, dishes, cutlery, cool box and ice packs and LED lights. We have a minimum stay of 3 nights and Sunday arrivals or departures are not accepted. Dogs are not allowed in our Readi-Tents. Children under the age of 18 must have a responsible adult staying in the tent with them.
There are 4 holiday cottages - Cedar Cottage which is 4 star rated, sleeping up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms, Greystones 1 which is 3 star rated, sleeping up to 5 people in 2 bedrooms and a sofabed in the lounge, Greystones 2 which is 3 star rated, sleeping up to 4 people in one bedroom and a sofabed in the lounge and the historic Tower which sleeps 2 people only.
