Casa Romana is an established, independent restaurant with traditional Italian values at its core; good Italian food, both traditional and innovative, served in smart, comfortable but unpretentious surroundings.

We are right in the town centre and run a successful lunchtime special and an early evening ‘happy hour’ menu. We make homemade fresh bread and pizza dough daily, all desserts are homemade on site and we have created some great Gluten and dairy free recipes. Our Gluten free Sticky Toffee Pudding is amazing and has a third fewer calorie than a standard one!
We are allergy aware and are able to adapt most dishes to suit most requirements.

We cater for everyone, from high court judges to mothers and toddlers and every occasion from
weddings to retirements.

In Carlisle we have regulars from all over the region and cover West Cumbria from our Whitehaven branch, supplying a catchment area of some 130000+ people. We are proud to say that we have served well over a million dishes to (mostly) satisfied customers since 1993 and hope to serve a million more!

For our fresh produce, we use local suppliers whenever possible, Pioneer, English lakes, north lakes foods and Bells fishmongers to name a few.

Casa Romana opened in January 1993 and soon became one of Cumbria’s busiest and most popular restaurants. In fact, business proved to be so popular that in 1997 a second successful restaurant was opened in Whitehaven, a historic port town on Cumbria’s west coast, once invaded by John Paul Jones and the American Navy!

Today, the same chef/proprietor, Richard, still oversees everything in the kitchen.
And we believe we offer the same today as in 1993; “Serve good, authentic food by enthusiastic chefs at a fair price and the customers will come back again and again. The customer should arrive happy and leave even happier. Anyone and everyone should enjoy visiting”

Whilst a thriving, successful business is its own reward, recognition of the hard work that everyone puts into it is always much appreciated
