South View Farm B & B 4 star silver award Farmhouse, offering a peaceful, relaxing break within 3 miles of the Cathedral city of Exeter, and 2 miles from the A30 and A38. Situated on the edge of the village of Shillingford St George the farmhouse occupies a sunny position overlooking the large garden and rolling Devon countryside. The farmstead has beef cattle and laying hens provide fresh eggs for breakfast and we source locally produced food where possible for the table.
There are many places of interest and places to explore from here with access to some of the most diverse and unspoilt land and seascapes in the south of England. The Dartmoor National Park with it's timeless rugged beauty is home to an array of artisan communities, sculptors potters, painters and woodturners or the South coastal towns of Exmouth, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Torbay the English Riviera also Sidmouth and the Jurrassic coastline are all within easy reach.
If you like to visit grand houses and gardens there are National Trust properties like Knightshayes Estate which has an array of architectural planting and the best example of Victorian kitchen gardens in the country. The Georgian house at Killerton is set in a huge estate of working farmland with amazing shrubs and trees and an extinct volcano. Greenway near Brixham was the holiday home of Agatha Christy's family, Coleton Fishacre near Kingswear in South Devon encapsulates the spirit of the jazz age with elegant Art Deco interiors. Castle Drogo the 'youngest' N.T. propertybuilt in the twentieth Century, and the quirky Al a Ronde full of treasures from around the world and amazing views of the Exe estuary.
Devon has a rich horticultural heritage and fabulous gardens to wander around or just rest and admire the beautiful floral displays. In Spring the hedgerows are filled with wild flowers and a variety of colours that attract all sorts of pollinators including hoverflies, butterflies and bees.
Many foodie favourite establishments can be found in the area, offering an array of snacks, lunch or dinner catering for all tastes and dietary requirements. Farmers markets and shops provide us with fresh produce and not forgetting the delightful Devon cream tea with homemade scones and jam on the top!.

Outdoor pursuits are all around us with our very own Coarse fishing lakes here on the farm. The three spring fed lakes set within six acres are named Willow, Kingfisher and Heron containing a range of hard fighting fish including Carp, Perch, Roach and Tench all positioned in a peaceful valley with fantastic sightings of many birds like the Kingfisher and Heron in their natural habitat.
For the more adventurous Haldon forest has a zip wire high in the trees, also whatever the weather there is a fantastic choice of trails for all abilities and bikes are for hire to try your skills from beginners to the professional mountain bikers. The Exe estuary too is not far away for cyclist to enjoy the wonderful scenery and maybe stop en route to enjoy the birdlife .
