Komedia is rooted in a love of live performance and a belief in its power to add to the sum of human happiness. Brighton and Hove’s original independent venue, situated in the heart of the North Laine area, Komedia acts as a hub for Brighton’s animated and creative community. The venue hosts up to 700 events every year including its own award winning Krater Comedy Club but also works closely with local, national and international promoters to create vibrant, diverse and cutting edge performances of comedy, music, children’s events, spoken word, theatre, and cabaret.

There are two performance spaces - the intimate studio and our larger downstairs main space - with a professional team who pride themselves on being welcoming and friendly to all who come through the doors, be they a performer or member of the public who make up the exceptionally varied audience, ranging from 2 – 92 years of age.

To enjoy the full Komedia experience, try the delicious, fresh food served at many of our seated shows in the main space. This includes our popular, weekly Krater Comedy Club. If you’re eating with us, save money by booking a Meal Deal or Side Saver ticket in advance. Our menus accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
