Nature in Art is the world’s first museum dedicated exclusively to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature.
Our growing collection is housed in a fine Georgian mansion dating from the mid 1700’s featured in Simon Jenkins’s book ‘England’s 1000 Best Houses’, just outside the famous cathedral city of Gloucester. We regularly change our displays and have a vibrant programme of temporary exhibitions supported by an unrivalled programme of artists in residence. International in scope, appeal and stature, Nature in Art is a must for all those interested in world-class art, nature and heritage.
Nature in Art offers quality hands-on opportunities for both children and adults.
As well as our Wallsworth evening series of lectures and events, our Education service offers innovative opportunities to encourage both young and old to learn through practical activities and new experiences, and to have a really enjoyable time.
Adult Classes:
We run a wide range of adult classes throughout the year to cater for all abilities from beginners to advanced.
Dare to Dabble:
Designed completely around the absolute beginner, or those who just fancy a dabble, these sessions provide an opportunity to try out new art techniques and mediums.
Wallsworth Art Group:
Meets twice a month to enjoy a programme of evening demonstrations, films, talks, practical art workshops and other events. All are welcome and there is no selection procedure to join.
The museum has twice been specially commended in the National Heritage Museum of the Year Awards and runner-up in the Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Awards in 2013. With a licensed coffee shop serving homemade lunches, cakes and drinks, plus gardens, free parking and a beautiful setting it’s a wonderful place to visit.
Nature in Art is run by Nature in Art Trust which was established in 1982.
