The White Hart is a magnificent grade II listed chantry house, set in the picturesque village of Fyfield, just 10 minutes from the historic city of Oxford. The setting is breath-taking, from the soaring eaves of the great hall and minstrel's gallery to the bar with roaring log fire in Winter and terrace full of aromatic herb gardens in Summer.

Food is Modern British, fresh and seasonal. Chef owner Mark, is passionate about the provenance of his ingredients and has developed a large kitchen garden, which supplies the restaurant with an abundance of fruit and vegetables. The kitchen team make the most of the produce around them by foraging in local woodlands for seasonal delights, such as wild garlic and elderflowers. Local farms and producers are supported and food miles are kept to a minimum.

The same emphasis on quality and provenance is evident in every aspect of a visit to the White Hart. Cocktails are seasonal and made with fruit from the kitchen garden or foraged from local hedgerows. Garnishes for gins and other drinks are grown in a herb garden and the whole team get involved in the process of gardening, tending, picking and making.

Husband and wife team, Mark and Kay Chandler, are hands on in every way and share their passion and enthusiasm with their team of staff, who are first class. Their list of awards and accolades is extensive, including the crown of Best Oxfordshire Restaurant and Best Gastropub at the recent Oxfordshire Restaurant Awards. They have also held 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence for 10 years running!
