Moor House Adventure Centre is the headquarters for Durham Scout County, set in 19 acres of field & forest just outside of the historic city of Durham.

We provide tailor made outdoor education solutions for everyone, from residential activity programmes, school transition days, curriculum linked educational programmes to guided walks, corporate team building events & conference facilities.

Activity Days Package
We offer a range of high quality, affordable and flexible activity day packages that are designed with you in mind.
Our team will support you through the booking process and work with you to develop a programme that will be delivered by our experienced instructors.
We work with to ensure your programme meets your needs and provides developmental opportunities throughout.

Transition Days
The progression from primary school to secondary school is a key milestone in a young person’s life and one that could be full of anxiety, self-doubt and concern for both the pupil and their parent. We provide the ideal programmes to make this journey a much less stressful experience. Our programmes allow schools to introduce year 6 pupils to year 7 pupils in a supportive and inclusive manner which serves to build relationships, build trust and reduce anxieties. The specialist programmes also allow key teaching staff to engage with new pupils and initiate relationships whilst at the same identifying potential mentors.

Residential Activity Programmes
We offer a range of high quality, affordable and flexible activity day packages that are designed with you in mind.

Celebrations
What better way to celebrate than by throwing yourself of our Leap of faith platform over 11 metres above the ground, abseiling down a 40’ tower or cooking a freshly filleted fish over an open fire.
We are delighted to offer a range of birthday packages suitable for young kids and grown up kids.
If that isn’t for you can always book our indoor accommodation or marquees and enjoy the comforts of a less adventurous package.

Training
Moor House Adventure Centre offers a wide range of training opportunities such as;
Emergency First Aid, First Aid at Work and Outdoor First Aid, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling and Forest Schools.
We also work with a range of partners to offer National Governing body Qualifications such (can we put a link here to specific courses).

Duke Of Edinburgh Award
As an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) we can provide individual and group DofE programme support.
We provide Gold Residential opportunities as well as Bronze, Silver and Gold Expedition Training Programmes.

Targeted Programmes
We offer bespoke packages to suit the needs of many targeted programmes. With a wealth of experience in outdoor education, coaching, youth work, diversionary activities and teaching we have a staff team committed to delivering quality outcomes for everyone. So if you are looking to engage a challenging alternative education group, a female only client group or apprentice cohort we will design a programme tailored to your needs.
