Stay and experience the heart of the Scottish Borders: explore wide open spaces, discover the Reiving history, villains and heroes, enjoy a wonderful diversity of heritage, sports and activities. With the beautiful river valleys of the Ettrick and the Yarrow to the west, inspirational to poets, novelists and artists for hundreds of years, and the stunning Berwickshire coastline to the east, visitors have so much choice and will want to stay longer.

Our local historic Burgh town of Selkirk (charter of 1535), where William Wallace was declared Guardian of Scotland, birthplace of Mungo Park (1771-1805), surgeon and intrepid African explore, and where Sir Walter Scott sat as Sheriff from 1804 till 1832. The locals are known as 'souters' (shoemakers), and in bygone days a vibrant tweed industry grew alongside the waters of the Ettrick and the Yarrow. These two rivers merge with the mighty Tweed just east of the town. Local crafts, boutiques and tasty delicacies are a joy to find. Indulge in the best of regional cuisine in the multitude of restaurants, tearooms and pubs, everything from Selkirk Bannock to succulent local lamb, beef or haggis.

Within a 9 mile radius of our farm are no less than four towns, each offering a different visitors experience and each passionate about its rugby culture.

With the new Borders Railway link with Edinburgh, access to the region has never been easier. Both Galashiels and Tweedbank stations are only a few miles from Sunnycroft, so why not head up to the very heart of Scotland’s capital city the easy, stress-free way?
