Our indoor street scene takes you past an RAF Plotting Room and into an air raid shelter where you hear the sound of bombs falling. Walking past a bomb damaged shop you pass a wartime front parlour then into the Three Lamps pub for a 1940s sing-along on the piano!
As well as many original 1940s artefacts such as vacuum cleaners, washing and sewing machines on display there are also clothes and uniforms for the youngsters to try on. The gift shop has replica Ration Books and Identity Cards and also serves teas and Camp coffee!
Open daily to the public daily from 10am to 4pm, guided tours from an Air Raid Warden are available for groups as are evening visits. We are just two minutes from M4 junction 42. Check our website and social media for details of living history re-enactment events throughout the year.
We also have a small First War replica trench and display to commemorate the Great War 1914-18
