High on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, 50 km from Cape Town, lies the family-owned Delheim estate. Here the Sperling family has been making wines of character for many decades. Visitors to our beautiful farm will be greeted by breathtaking views and welcomed by a true sense of family hospitality!
We invite guests to visit us all year round to experience our farm with its majestic surroundings, the superb wines we produce and the wonderful food we serve in our restaurant. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the many mountain bike and trail-running routes, while regular features on our calendar like the summer gourmet picnics, Jazz and Cheese Fondues in winter and the annual harvest festival remain firm favourites for an enjoyable and fun-filled family day out.
At Delheim we are extremely proud of our atmospheric “Downstairs” cellar door, with its famous cobwebbed window. Very little has changed here over the years since it became the birthplace of the Stellenbosch Wine Route in 1971. Upon arrival, visitors to our cellar door will be greeted by a glass of ice cold, pure farm spring water during the hot summer months or a glass of steaming hot glühwein in the cold winter months! Our famous cupcake and wine pairing will tantalise your taste buds and adds a new dimension to pairing food with wine.
German gemütlichkeit is the order of the day in our Garden Restaurant, situated in a stunning setting. On clear days guests have a beautiful view across to Table Mountain in the distance. The restaurant offers a selection of dishes ranging from cheese platters to traditional German and South African food. Eat al fresco on the garden terraces in summer, or cosy up in the ‘Downstairs’ cellar in winter. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and tea, and also caters for small private functions.
