The wineries surrounding the Canberra district have been around since the 1830s and are now producing some of Australia’s finest vintages. The winemakers are also a creative lot with many wine styles you would usually find in France and Spain starting to come out of this region. In joining us for a tour, we’ll talk about traditional wine making styles of the Northern Hemisphere and how Canberra wines compare. With wine tasting, like with anything, the more you get to know and understand what you’re doing, the more you will enjoy it. It’s drinking and thinking – what’s not to love? Our tours will also showcase some of the regions local producers and you’ll be able to sample some fabulous local food matched with fabulous local wine.
We’re not just another Canberra wine tour – with us you’ll have to think while you drink (just a little bit!) We want you to get to know what you’re drinking, glugging is fine for some things but we’ll be drinking some good stuff and our aim is that you’ll end our tour knowing something that you didn’t before, even if it’s just a poncy wine word!
In our mini-van, we’ll take you out to visit some of the regions finest wineries. On each tour, we’ll visit a minimum of 4 wineries and stop for lunch at a lovely local vineyard. With over 30 cellar doors in the region, we have handpicked the ones that we think best demonstrate the quality of wine and warm hospitality that this area offers.
