Ocean Free is a 16m sailing vessel, offering the most exclusive tour to The Great Barrier Reef from Cairns, with a maximum of 25 passengers (surveyed for 52 but capped for comfort). This day tour allows you to explore Green Island - a tropical paradise situated in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef - as well as exploring The Great Barrier Reef itself on our exclusive mooring at Pinnacle Reef. You have time to snorkel and / or dive in the morning (diving is an optional extra), exploring the pinnacles that rise up to the surface from 12m below - perfect for diving and snorkelling. We have many types of soft and hard corals, as well as meeting everyone's favourite Nemo, the clown fish. Green Island is also a hotspot for turtles, which can be encountered whilst snorkelling on most days, along with the friendly Black-tipped Reef Sharks that frequently swim in the waters around our mooring. After lunch, there is time to relax on the beach of Green Island, explore the rainforest plants, meet Cassius - the world's largest crocodile in captivity - or even pay a quick visit to the bar for a cocktail!

On the way home, we will hoist the sails and switch the motors off for a relaxing (or exciting) trip back to Cairns, depending on the weather. Feel free to get involved and hoist the sails or even steer the ship!

We specialise on beginners and those less experienced in diving and snorkelling, with a very high crew to guest ratio. We offer in water assistance all day and all introductory divers are guaranteed a ratio of 2:1 (most other tours offer 4:1). We also offer one-on-one snorkel and dive tuition for those who need a little more time and assistance to get comfortable.
