The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum

On display daily, discover genuine pieces of history including captured items from World War I & II, Northern Africa and the Pacific. See history up close, view tanks, armoured personnel carriers, anti-tank vehicles, anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft guns, field guns, howitzers, self-propelled guns and specialist vehicles. Vehicles, weaponry and artillery you usually only get to see in the movies, all in one convenient location in Far North Queensland.

Add some excitement to your day and join us for a ride in our custom fitted APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) which seats 10 passengers. The APC has a turret on top to replicate the look of a tank but with comfort design to suit all. Rides are available onsite daily at 11am and 2pm (conditions apply). Our custom built WWII shooting gallery is now open. Join us downstairs for your opportunity to shoot military related bolt action rifles (including a WWII British 303 and German Mauser) under the supervision of our highly qualified safety officers. There are 2 lanes setup which allows two shooters to shoot simultaneously at distances of up to 50 metres.

The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum offers the perfect experience for the whole family, there is even a Kids corner where children can take a photo dressed as a real soldier, try on genuine army gear and play on the battle re-creation table allowing their imaginations to run wild. During your visit, enjoy a coffee, cool drink or snack in our self serve café area or browse through our retail section where you will find a surprisingly diverse collection of specialty items including model kits, paints, toys, puzzles, reference books and souvenirs.

So come and see us sometime soon for a Cairns experience with a bang!
