Don't just visit the Bay of Fires........Experience it!! Head out from Binalong Bay and enjoy the Bay of Fires at its finest, the pristine white sandy beaches, lichen covered boulders, hidden bays and striking headlands of this breathtakingly beautiful coastline. The Bay of Fires stretches for nearly 30 kms and there is no better way to soak up this amazing scenery than from the water. With three different tours on offer covering all or part of the Bay of Fires, our fully guided tours offer not only magnificent scenery, but the chance to encounter an abundance of sea life.
'Bay of Fires' is our flagship tour and the only way to experience the Bay of Fires in its entirety, sit back and soak it all in as we travel on an exhilarating boat ride to the northern most point of the Bay of Fires. This 2.5 - 3 hour tour covers over 28kms of pristine coastline, the history and natural beauty will be highlighted as we traverse our way north past the Bay of Fires Conservation Area to Mount William National Park and the lighthouse reserve at Eddystone Point. The return journey is an offshore experience giving you a panoramic view of the coastline, just as the early explorers would have encountered when they first set eyes on the Bay of Fires. Different times of year bring a diverse range of sea life, including Humpback and Southern Right Whales, Dolphins, Fur Seals, Pelicans, Albatross, Pacific Gulls, Shearwaters and Sea Eagles.
The Gardens Tour - is a mini version of our main tour, advisable for those visitors with less time on their hands or who would simply prefer a shorter boating experience, but still want to enjoy the beauty of the area. You will experience a fabulous array of beaches and rocky outcrops on this 1.5 hours boat ride which covers the southern end of the Bay of Fires, around 16kms of pristine coastline.
The St Helens Island Tour - Although not technically part of The Bay of Fires, it still showcases some lovely scenery. This tour heads south from Binalong Bay via Elephant Rock, Dora Point and past the entrance to Georges Bay. We will pass the vast rolling sands of Peron Dunes as we head towards St Helens Island, here we meet a resident seal colony on the southern end of the Island. The Island is also home to many species of bird life including Little Penguins, Short-tailed Shearwaters, Petrels, Pacific and Silver Gulls.
Accomodation - Bella Costa (The Beautiful Coast), situated just meters from the main beach and offering stunning views of the Bay of Fires. Previously known as Dotril Cottage in the Character Cottages complex, it has now been beautifully restored into a stylish 1 bedroom holiday apartment, with brand new kitchen and bathroom, also featuring updated decor throughout. You are literally a stones throw from the pure white sand and the pristine aqua waters of Binalong Bay beach.
The apartment features a queen sized bed perfect for couples, in a generous room with adjoining bathroom and an open plan kitchen and lounge area with inbuilt laundry, leading to a deck out the front. You really can’t be more centrally located, Bella Costa is within easy walking distance of Grants Lagoon, the boat ramp and gulch, Bay of Fires Eco Tours, the viewing platform and of course the Moresco restaurant and the main beach are just meters away.
Sit back and relax on the deck with a good book and watch the world go by, stroll the soft sandy beach or enjoy an exhilarating boat ride. The water is so pristine and clear, the resident skates and dolphins which frequent the bay can easily be seen from the comfort of Bella Costa. Perhaps during whales season you may even be lucky enough to spot a mother and calf playing as they bond on their return journey south. Bella Costa guests receive a 20% discount off the full price of our Bay of Fires Eco Tours.
