Imagine a superbly appointed Lodge, constructed from beautiful Tasmanian timber, nestled on 200 acres of privately owned land within this majestic wilderness. Guests are offered complete seclusion from the outside world and can choose from a range of experiences. Whether you want to spend a luxury weekend, with fine Tasmanian produce and wines, where we cater to your every whim, or want a wilderness adventure where you cook your own meals, we can personalise your stay to suit your needs.
Private Rooms
The Tarkine Wilderness Lodge offers guests the exclusive use of the Lodge and facilities including 3 luxurious suites with ensuite and beautiful vistas of the surrounding rainforest. Tarkine Wilderness Lodge understands privacy therefore our guests will never share the Lodge with other guests. Your Host Maree, resides a short distance from the lodge and is always available to cater to your needs. Each of the three large bedrooms feature beautiful Tasmanian timber finishing, a queen sized bed, large windows, balcony and well-appointed ensuite. Enjoy delicious home style cuisine prepared with fresh Tasmanian produce complemented by a fine local wine.

Activities
The Lodge offers a range of activities, guided rainforest walks, majestic Arthur River tour and nocturnal wildlife tours.
Escorted Rainforest Walks - Tarkine Wilderness Lodge offers walks through the pristine Tarkine Rainforest. Your hosts at the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge are experienced guides who can escort you on a safe, yet breathtaking stroll through the largest temperate rainforests in the southern hemisphere, providing visitors with plenty of information on this ancient 60 million year old forest home to many threatened and endangered species .During your walk you will see a large variety of plant species ranging from tall Eucalyptus, giant Myrtles, Sassafras, Blackwood and an abundance of ferns, mosses and lichens. Also the vast variety of wildlife in their natural habitat. The various walking tracks meander gently under the rainforest canopy and pass by several small creeks and rivers. An experience that will stay in your memory forever. Some of our popular walks include 'Mother Earths Great Gums Track', 'The Heritage Track' and 'The Double Dip Track' to name a few.

Walks depart from the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge at 10.30am and cost $35 per person or $55 per person including BBQ lunch served at 1pm. Group bookings are also welcome. *All walks are subject to availability and weather conditions. To avoid disappointment bookings are essential.

Eco-Friendly
The lodge operates on renewable energy and tours are low impact. Their aim is to leave the smallest ecological footprint possible.
Rain water (some of the cleanest in the world!) is collected from the roof and supplies all internal taps, showers and vanities. Dam water is used for the surrounding garden and all toilets in the Lodge. The Lodge utilizes Solar Power as its main source of electricity, it is renewable and silent and also reduces our green house emissions. A gas powered generator is used as back up. We are proud to promote our Lodge as Eco friendly and have achieved our Advanced Eco Tourism Certified with Eco Tourism Australia.
Instead of planting trees which take 25-30 years before half the carbon emissions are actually offset, we have invested in renewable energy, such as the solar array which offset your carbon emissions straight away. Rather than try to offset the carbon emissions from food we have a policy of buying as much of our food & wine from local suppliers and growers as well as growing our own organic produce on site which guests will enjoy in their evening meals.
