Oakdene is a premium tourist destination on the Bellarine Peninsula. The Oakdene property boasts a boutique vineyard, award winning restaurant, eclectic cafe and a unique cellar door with extensive gardens situated on 93 hectares of coastal farmland in Wallington, near Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia. Wallington is found on the Bellarine Peninsula, approximately 20 kilometres east of Geelong and 90 kilometres south of Melbourne. Oakdene is a unique, eclectic property, with art works, sculptures and interesting pieces wherever you look. Oakdene is a recognised leader in both the wine and hospitality industry, and understands how to exceed customer expectations and deliver high quality experiences.

AWARD WINNING WINES
Established in 2001, Oakdene is a local, boutique wine producer specialising in the varieties best suited to the Geelong region, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris. Oakdene premium wines are made in small quantities, from estate grown high quality fruit, produced in low yields using meticulous vine management. The wines are elegant, complex and reflect the true varietal character of our region.

Oakdene has a 5 RED star rating in the 2016 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion with wines consistently scoring 90 and above.

ICONIC CELLAR DOOR
Oakdene’s cellar door, the ‘upside-down house’ is best described as an ‘A’ frame timber house that has been blown over in the wind, with the roof line on the ground and timber stumps exposed. Recycled and reclaimed timbers feature extensively throughout the interior, coupled with contemporary design and facilities to complete a spectacular, unique and very functional tasting room capable for catering for both small and larger groups.

The cellar door team, led by Steven Paul, work extremely hard to meet and exceed the expectations of visitors and has become a drawcard to the Bellarine Peninsula. Oakdene offers friendly and informative wine tastings and sales of the entire range of estate grown wines (including still and sparkling wines).

CONTEMPORARY RESTAURANT DINING - MARTY @ OAKDENE
Established in 2004, the Oakdene restaurant Marty @ Oakdene is the perfect place to match estate grown wines with the menu of seasonal, local and regional produce prepared with passion and flair. Oakdene boasts a modern Australian and European cuisine prepared with flawless execution and presentation by Executive Chef and Owner Marty Chichester (who previously owned and managed popular restaurants in Wales and Sydney). The restaurant offers various dining options including a la carte and degustation menus, high teas and can cater for private and business functions.

CASUAL CAFE DINING – MR GRUBB @ OAKDENE
Oakdene has just added an exciting addition to the property, a relaxed, casual eatery – Mr Grubb. Nestled amongst the birch trees, adjacent to the ‘Upside-Down House’ Cellar Door, Mr Grubb is a hidden haven with unbelievable garden views. The Mr Grubb Café was built to offer diners something more family friendly for foodies on a budget. Executive Chef Marty Chichester has designed an exciting menu of share plates, salads, pizzas, burgers and sliders. You can also enjoy a coffee and cake while taking in the beautiful surroundings. And of course, a glass of Oakdene wine.

EXQUISITE ACCOMMODATION
An original 1920’s homestead, Oakdene has been beautifully restored and boasts three uniquely themed accommodation rooms for an ideal romantic getaway. In-room local 'Wildings' mini hamper selection and coffee & tea facilities are included free of charge. Prices include breakfast (available from 9:30am at the cafe Mr Grubb @ Oakdene on the property.)

QUIRKY PROPERTY
Oakdene is a unique, eclectic property - a fascinating place, with its personality, style and quirkiness all directly reflecting the owner’s personalities. The décor is constantly changing, with something new to look at and discover each time you experience Oakdene. Oakdene has extensive gardens dotted with sculptures and quirky flotsam and jetsam like the wheelbarrow tree and the interpretative sculpture junk tree that invite investigation.

Oakdene also has a decommissioned trackless train with 3 carriages, used for vineyard and property tours where visitors can enjoy the llamas, alpacas and the extensive gardens.
