Eating nutritious organic food is a growing trend. But wild fisheries is in decline. How can we reverse this trend and become more connected with our food source?

Our riverside property contains exhibits that if unraveled can give clues on how we can all have an abundant and sustainable fishery. Look down from the top of the river stop bank and take our free internet based slide show that introduces the exhibits and challenges us to think beneath the waves (aka outside the square)

We hope our free attraction will lead you to consider taking up a short experiential tour. You can become a party to this ground breaking project and make your own personalized reef module. This short tour 'Tiaki Moana' (Caring for the sea) allows you to participate in simple exercises that end with you making a reef module. ($30 for 1-2 hours)

The next step up is our 3-day workshop appealing to anybody interested in fishing, marine life, and new perspectives. During your voyage you will learn how to grow more fish, explore lesser considered laws of nature, make a concrete personalized marine enhancement module, and contribute to a Community Reef.

REAF offers an opportunity for anyone from anywhere to help restore a balance of marine life abundance in our seas. (Maori : kia wharite – restoring the balance). Up until this time in history, mankind has seen marine life as a resource to exploit. This voyage focuses on changing this perspective and learning how to respect nature and enhance marine life.

Check out our web site for more of our story and the ways you can become involved.
