Waihi Beach Lodge is a boutique bed & breakfast lodge situated approx half way along Waihi Beach some 150 metres from 9kms of sandy beach. Waihi Beach Lodge is approx 2 hours from Auckland International airport on the east coast.
Our guests are predominantly from the UK, Europe, US and Australia (with a few Kiwis thrown in for good measure). Our geographical location and closeness to New Zealand’s main international airport makes us the perfect location for guests starting their New Zealand trip or the last few nights prior to boarding their long haul flights. To help guests looking at our website we have translations in 5 languages English, French, German, Italian and Spanish
Waihi Beach is also perfectly positioned for guests to see the Coromandel and Bay of Plenty from one base. Hot Water Beach, Whitianga, Cathedral Cove, Rotorua, Hobbiton and Waitomo are all within easy driving distances ( all within 2 hours) and there is plenty to see & do in the locally.
Waihi Beach is 9ks of sand and is a safe surf & swimming beach. Within 30 minutes there are 4 golf courses, 3 wineries, the Karangahake Gorge with its many walks through the old gold mining remnants of the late 1800’s early 1900’s. In Waihi (10mins away) there is the modern Martha gold mine – gold mine tours happen daily. Additionally we can organize swimming with the dolphins in Tauranga or kayaking through glow worm caves at night, both activities just 40 minutes south of Waihi Beach or a day trip up the Coromandel, fishing – either trout, salt water or torpedo fishing with mine hosts Greg & Ali off the beach.
We also cater very well for honeymoon couples from all over the world – we have enjoyed hosting couples from the US, UK, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, and more recently India – there is something romantic about the beach that works magic on newly weds and of course we pamper them with TLC.
For the last 6 years Waihi Beach Lodge has received a Certificate of Excellence as rated by our guests on Trip Advisor and have been included in the Trip Advisor Hall of Fame. For the last 2 years Waihi Beach Lodge has also been recognised as providing service of an Excellent rating by guests who have booked through Booking.com.
Waihi Beach Lodge has 2 king rooms and 1 queen room plus a king studio apartment. All rooms have have a king or queen size bed, ensuite, tea & coffee making facilities, fridge and private entrance. All rooms have TV & DVD, cotton linen, toiletries, slippers, hair dryer & fresh fruit andchocolates on arrival. The lodge itself has a large lounge, day room and decks to watch the sea from and the beach is a very short stroll from the door (150m). There is free WIFI throughout for checking emails and keeping in touch with loved ones.
The lodge is approx 5 minutes away from cafes catering for evening meal requirements.
