A quaintly charming old post office bed and breakfast. Built entirely of kauri ,circa 1903, she sits above the village of Paparoa. Once at the hub of the bustling township she is now at a peaceful distance apart.
Five minute walk will take you to eateries in Paparoa, or to the beginning of the lovely and historic walk around the ancient Maori Pa site(abandoned in haste approx 1750).
We have six bedrooms, most of which have their own private, unshared bathroom. The old postmaster's suite has its own external entrance, hallway, bathroom and bedroom all of which can be locked off from the rest of the house.
Dinners can be ordered and breakfast is a qood quality home made continental. Mixed grain breads and a range of homemade jams and jellies just like grandma made.
Spend the day relaxing on the deck or in the secluded garden or drive six kms to the amazing Matakohe Kauri Museum. Pahi Peninsula is lovely as is Stirling Bush(fishing, swimming or walking).
We like to make our guests feel looked after without being intrusive. Read one of my eclectic mix of books or choose a DVD from a wide collection (classic, adventure and NZ). Make yourselves a cup of tea and try one of my biscuits.
