Eco Wanaka Adventures specializes in tours of beautiful Lake Wanaka and the World Heritage Mt Aspiring National park with guided lake cruises, “ Lake Cruise & Island Nature Walk” to Mou Waho Island, & walks including the “ Rob Roy Glacier Guided Walk” & HelI –Hikes to this area’s many special places. Our experienced guides pass on their extensive knowledge of the history and geography of this region, and its flora and fauna.

Lake Cruise & Mou Waho Island Nature Walk- This unique and magical island reserve 30 mins cruise up Lake Wanaka has a secret-a Lake on top of an Island! -After our 30 mins guided scenic bushwalk, we enjoy a spectacular “High Tea”, the rare flightless Buff Weka, & 360 degrees of lakes and Southern Alps makes this is a photographer’s paradise. Plant a native tree on the island as part of this 3.5 hr. eco-experience.

Wanaka Nature Encounter- Lake Cruise as above in the morning, then after a lunch in one of Wanaka’s many cafes or restaurants (at clients own cost), enjoy an afternoon 4WD journey exploring the private backroads of an iconic Wanaka high country sheep, cattle and deer farm, stunning views, European heritage sites. Enjoy a stroll through alpine meadows and ancient forests then a leisurely afternoon-tea in the mountains with views across to LOTR and Hobbit filming locations.

Rob Roy Glacier Guided Walk- The most varied and spectacular 1 day walk in NZ- Swing bridge, glacier views. Ice falls, mountain rainforest, alpine flowers, cascading waterfalls - Rob Roy has it All! - The Jewel of Mt Aspiring National Park, this is graded Moderate, and a max 5 hour fully guided walk, gourmet Sandwich lunch and hot drinks supplied.

Alpine Lakes Heli Hike – Fly to 1400m above worry level to 3 pristine, crystal clear emerald green lakes looking down to the Matukituki Valley and across to the glacier clad Mt Aspiring (3033m). This hike can be tailor made to suit all. An up to 2 hour moderate walk offers unrivalled scenery and photographic opportunities. Includes refreshments, personal guiding, 3 Helicopter flights 2 Alpine Landings all as part of this unique 4 hour high Alpine experience.

Misty Mountains Heli Hike - Our Helicopter experience follows the Eagles flight with a landing on glaciated Fog Peak, to admire Mt Aspiring (Tititea) at 3033m, and it’s surrounding glacier cloaked panorama of the breathtaking Southern Alps. Amazingly we can see 3 Trilogy film sites from here. We then fly and land on Treble Cone’s Towers Ridge. From here we descend, walking the very footsteps of the Dwarves and our little ring carrier to our scenic tea spot and then on to our helicopter for our return.
