The rugged West Coast is hemmed between the wild Tasman Sea rolling in to its western coastline and the vast Southern Alps to the east. It is remote and sparsely populated, boasting 2 of the world's most accessible glaciers, the Franz Josef and the Fox Glacier. Helicopter flights allow visitors to ‘get away from it all’ with flights accessing Mount Cook National Park and both the Fox & Franz Josef Glaciers. A heli landing on one of the glaciers gives visitors the unique opportunity to interact and enjoy some of the most spectacular wonders of the natural world. Flights depart from Fox Glacier and Franz Josef townships.
