Bæjarins Bestu Pylsur is a popular hot dog stand located in the city centre of Reykjavík and additionally in five other locations around Reykjavík. The company was founded in 1937 and has since been run by the same family currently the third and fourth generation.
The hot dog is served simply in a bun and the customer can choose any combination of five toppings which are fresh and fried onions, ketchup, mustard and remoulade.
The hot dog stand has received wide recognition for it's quality hot dogs and has been praised in international media such as the Forbes magazine and Anthouny Bourdain's show about street food.
A long list of talented and famous people have enjoyed a hot dog at the stand and the list includes amongst others Bill Clinton, Ella Fitzgerald, The members of the rock band Metallica and Kim Kardashian.
