Enjoy a thrilling mountain bike ride along the winding paths of Mottarone above Lake Maggiore for stunning views with every turn of the road. You don’t need to be an expert cyclist. If you can cycle, and have strong hands to brake, then you will be fine!
The exact route taken will depend on the weather, and tours are adapted to take in the different colors of the seasons. But expect to see the gentle grassy slopes that divide Lake Maggiore from Lake Orta, and some of the most breathtaking views of the distant Alps.
Enjoy an uninterrupted panorama that takes in the Ligurian Apennines and Maritime Alps, as well as the Monte Rosa Massif and the high peaks of Switzerland across the Po Plain. Hikers head to the myriad paths, and you will join them cycling through mature woods of fir, pine, larch, beech, and chestnut trees.

Pedal across ancient pastures, where animals graze and the meadows are full of the fragrance of herbs and flowers. The mountain is also of geological interest, with several quarries, mostly of white and pink granite. In winter it is a major ski center, and the scenery takes on a different perspective, with snow-capped mountains and trees sprinkled with snow flakes.
