Niederhorn – prime seat in front of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau


High above Lake Thun sits the holiday resort of Beatenberg and its local mountain, the Niederhorn. Start your trip with a visit to the summit with views onto the Justistal on one side and the panorama of the alps on the other side.

The Niederhorn offers a lot for families, active sports-men, and nature lovers. From Extended hikes to Beatenberg-Waldegg or Habkern to a nice walk for the whole Family from Niederhorn to the middle Station Vorsass, you will find an excursion after your taste.

In summer we offer guided wildlife-observation tours (June to September), evening journeys (July to September). The free alpine-orienteering trails, and the descent with the kick-scooter from middle-station Vorsass to Beatenberg are good fun for Families with kids. Hikers will find a Extended hiking-trail net between Lake Thun und the wild-romantic Justistal.

In winter, Niederhorn is a Family friendly skiing area offering blue and red slopes with fantastic views from over Lake Thun to the bernese-alps with Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Sledding, winter hiking, snow-shoeing and our star-lit sledding round off our varied winter-offer. Well prepared winter-hiking trails will lead you into the unspoiled nature of our winter-wonderland.
