Bear Essentials is a unique visitor attraction in the woods of West Cavan beside Brackley Lake. Brackley Lake is part of the Unesco Marble Arch Global Geopark between Co.Cavan and Co.Fermanagh. Bear Essentials Teddy Bear shop houses the largest collection of teddy bears in Ireland. Anke's own one off limited edition Mohair Bears as well as Irish Made Baby Essentials. The shop also stocks famous teddy bears like Steiff, Charlie Bears, Bukowski Bears and others.
The Silver Bear Centre, beside the shop, displays some artefacts, old bears and is used for any workshops and events held by Bear Essentials during the year. You can build your own bear or learn how to make a collector teddy bear. Any workshop has to be pre booked. Check website for upcoming events.
While you are at Bear Essentials you are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the gardens or little green houses. Anke also runs an international Teddy Bear Hospital to restore teddy bears from around the world.
