Bailys Corner

Baily's Corner is an established old world pub situated in the heart of Tralee town. The interior is cast in the idiom of yesteryear with dark stained timbers, bench settles, church pews and vintage memorabilia giving the premises its nostalgic authenticity. It has an incredible old world charm that has eased into the 21st century. Baily’s Corner is located on Castle Street the bustling main shopping street in the historic centre of Tralee. During the day its the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of Kerry’s county capital and enjoy the banter over soup and a freshly made sandwich or a nice pint of the black stuff.

Atmosphere, character and charm are the keynotes in the appeal of Baily’s Corner. This authenticity is clearly on display by the character of the premises and the characters that frequent it. It is a pub where conversation is the order of the day. Baily's has gained a reputation, not just for the quality of its drink, but also as an eatery of choice. They guarantee their customers the best quality and best value bar food in Tralee. Whether you're looking for tea, a scone and lively conversation in the morning or a made to order sandwich and fresh soup for lunch they have got something to suit both your taste and your wallet.

Baily's Corner offers a relaxed atmosphere with an extensive drinks selection to boot. The bar has the biggest whiskey selection in North Kerry boasting over one hundred whiskeys to date. There is a big emphasise on Irish produce, from their food to their drink selection. They are continuously diversifying their range of beers and spirits. For the craft beer fans, they have an impressive selection of local Irish craft beers. They also have an extensive gin selection. There are many cosy corners, plenty of nooks and crannies and an award winning snug to enjoy everything the bar has to offer.

If it’s after dark entertainment you're after, look no further. Aside from fun and games with the bar’s legendary regular punters they have the best in live music seven nights a week. During the summer season they have live traditional Irish music Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday nights with the very best of Kerry’s contemporary musicians every Friday and Saturday night. The bar staff are friendly and helpful and will give you a warm welcome as well as excellent service from the minute you walk in the door.

Sports fans will also enjoy their time in Baily's. The display of sporting prints which adorn the walls indicate that this is the spiritual home of sport. Tralee’s cricket and rugby fraternity are especially at home here. While the walls act as a collage encompassing Munster’s Heineken Cup journey and Kerry’s search for Sam. Baily’s acts as a sporting hub where locals share friendly banter and often get to rub shoulders with sporting legends. The pictures on the walls tell a story in themselves. From local legends to sporting heroes, each tell their own unique story. Up and coming Irish rugby international Ultan Dillane used to work here and often calls to visit. The bar has two big high def projectors along with two 55 inch tv's to watch all the action in style. The pub is one of the best places in town to watch a match.

Baily’s Corner is an institution in Tralee and central to it’s appeal is owner Garry O’Donnell who has been keeping the people of the Kerry fed, watered, informed and most importantly entertained for over 30 years. A number of years ago Garry & his nephew Conor moved from their former premises on Ashe Street to a new home in the premises once occupied by another of Tralee’s most famous watering holes, Harty’s Bar. The famous bar was the venue where, some fifty years, ago a small group of enterprising local businessmen gathered, over several pints, and came up with the idea for the world famous Rose of Tralee festival.

To this day the bar remains a focal point during the festival and is a must for anyone who wants to sample a bit of the festival’s unique history or maybe, if they’re lucky, meet a Rose for themselves. Of course it's not all about Garry and the roses. Every day scores of people gather to discuss the important, and often not so important, issues of the day and Garry's staff will always be able to provide an entertaining new insight. For those seeking a quiet chat over a pint or a coffee the pub is also home to Munster's Best Snug as decided by voters in the 2011 Power's Snug Of The Year Competition. If you are in the area, it really is a must visit, you won't be disappointed!
