The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum

Perched atop a hill with sweeping southland views, the completely renovated Reagan Library is one of California’s most beautiful and unique destinations. Located between Malibu and Santa Barbara, the Reagan Library is truly a shining city on a hill as well as the most popular Presidential Library in the United States. It has inspired more than five million visitors since opening in 1991, and is a must see destination only 45 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.

The American Presidency comes alive here, where 18 galleries and dozens of interactive displays wait to entertain, educate and excite visitors and tour groups. Where else in California can visitors walk onboard an actual Air Force One aircraft that flew seven U.S. presidents, touch an authentic piece of the Berlin Wall, or lay a hand on a real steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center after 9-11?

Visitors will not only learn about the history of the American Presidency, but will also immerse themselves in Ronald Reagan’s path to the White House. Using Green Screen technology, visitors call a Cubs game, introduce a GE Theater, and even act in a movie! Follow President Reagan to the White House and deliver the Presidential Inauguration through the use of a teleprompter. Travel the world on diplomatic missions on board Air Force One. Explore the White House Oval Office and East Wing.

Our special exhibit “INTERACTIVE! How Pop Culture Reshapes Technology,” is open now through April, 16 2017. Featuring Mars rovers, jetpacks, the first 3D printed car, drones and robots, children and adults of all ages will see how these fascinating and innovative technologies are currently shaping our lives which is followed by TITANIC At the Reagan Library, opening May 27, 2017 and running through January 7, 2018.

The Museum is designed for self-guided activities. Please allow two and a half to three hours to view all the galleries and exhibits. The Museum and grounds are wheelchair accessible except for the interior of Air Force One. For those of our visitors who are unable to walk through the aircraft, a wheelchair lift is provided to access the entry of the plane to view the flight deck and communication center. Additionally, elevator access is available at the rear entrance and a special photo album located next to the airplane is available for viewing. Special needs parking spaces are also available. Complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that no pets are allowed on the grounds or in the Museum. However working animals (i.e. guide dog for the blind) that are identified as such are allowed.

Tour guides (docents) may be available to tour groups of 25 or more people with an advance reservation. Docent led tours will be an additional $10 fee per person.

Groups must use ONE form of payment for the entire group and make a reservation in advance. Please telephone: 805-577-4066 for information and/or assistance with your reservation. You can contact us at: visitorservices@reaganfoundation.org
