Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures

The Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures was founded in 2011 by international travelers and art collectors in Fort Collins to preserve and celebrate the world’s diverse arts and traditions. Today the Museum remains dedicated to showcasing international art and artifacts. Exhibits and programs are created to engage and inspire visitors to learn more about world cultures, people, art, and history. With minimal admission fees and a friendly staff, the Museum welcomes visitors interested in knowledge about how people live around the world.

The Museum features an international Museum Shop and four galleries, two permanent and two rotating (every 3-6 months). Of the permanent exhibits, the Mundoville Gallery highlights international folk art in miniature as well as Losel dolls hand-crafted by exiled Tibetan monks. The Village Arts Gallery is home to world folk art, fine art, and artifacts donated by local collectors and founding members with an emphasis on Africa, Asia, and South America.

The Museum’s Main Gallery and Hall Gallery house temporary exhibits ranging from a focus on a country or region to international themes or categories. For example, “China’s Imperial Treasures” showcased exquisite and rare Asian art, and “Nativities Around the World” featured over 250 creche scenes from across the globe. All art and artifacts displayed in the Museum are from global travelers and/or art collectors who reside in Northern Colorado.

The non-profit Museum reaches out to the community with events and activities for the entire family. Youth enjoy free story times, scavenger hunts, and hands-on international musical instruments. Adults are treated to gallery walks, concerts, and educational programs. The Museum strives to bring the world to Northern Colorado and connect Northern Colorado to the world. With each endeavor, the Global Village Museum proclaims “Experience Your World!”
