Su Teatro Cultural & Performing Arts Center is located in Denver's exciting Santa Fe Arts District. Established in 1971 with a mission to produce, develop and preserve the cultural arts, heritage, and traditions of the Chicano/Latino community, Su Teatro's productions advance mutual respect for the many cultures that make Denver beautiful. Today we serve 25,000 individuals each year by presenting a full season of theater, visiting artist residencies, film, music, literary and arts education programming.

Su Teatro’s artistic programming is inspired directly from the daily experience, stories, history, and cultural traditions of Latinos/Chicanos in this country. Our work is a first voice interpretation coming directly from the people and communities living an experience. This helps ensure that our stories, history and artistic contributions become more accessible and fairly portrayed.

Each year, Su Teatro Cultural & Performing Arts Center presents 4 to 5 plays, seasonal festivals including an Independent Film Festival (XicanIndie FilmFest); a WordFest festival that includes play readings, visiting artist performances, poetry, and the Chicano Music Festival - an outdoor roots festival that celebrates the music of the Southwest.

Finally, Su Teatro is proud of its Cultural Arts Education Institute, a year-round program that provides arts exposure activities to K-12 students.
