Founded in 1934, Hui No‘eau is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing exceptional visual arts education with the entire community. Located on the 25-acre historic Kaluanui estate, the Hui’s historic buildings have been transformed into functioning art studios, classrooms, and exhibition spaces. Hui No‘eau’s year-round visual arts education programs, exhibitions, open studios and community outreach efforts impact over 30,000 artists and other individuals including, youth, students, educators, and community members living in Maui County as well as visitors from around the world.

When C.W Dickey designed Kaluanui in 1917 for its original owners, Harry & Ethel Baldwin, he was one of the most celebrated architects of his time. Now, 100 years later, Kaluanui still stands in its original character as one of Maui’s most iconic legacy estates still open to the public. With the unending generosity of our community, Hui No‘eau has succeeded in preserving Kaluanui so that it may remain accessible for future generations of artists, students, educators, and community members for years to come.
