Kayaking on the Wailua River and hiking through the Wailua River Valley rainforest to reach Secret Falls has become the most popular activity on Kauai. It is a great adventure for all ages including grandpa and grandma. All ages are welcome. Most kayakers are first timers; no experience is necessary for the 45 minute paddle upstream (easier than downstream due to prevailing wind conditions). The 30 minute hike is mostly level but very rugged and often very muddy. Proper footwear like old sneakers is recommended and complimentary footwear can be borrowed at the site.
