Lahaina History & Culture - On our two-hour Lahaina walking adventure, explore Lahaina’s rich history off the beaten path with Native Hawaiian kumu (teacher-guides) who make Maui’s history and Hawaiian culture come alive in chants and stories. Visiting significant sites, you’ll journey back in time and cross the village of Lele (Lahaina) through the ages. Discover places from old Hawaii to the Missionary and Whaling times through the Monarchy and Plantation eras.
Discover Old Hawaii - On our four-hour cultural arts immersion program, journey back in time to the days before western contact and learn about a traditional way of life at Lahaina’s revered places. Immerse yourself in authentic Hawaiian culture with three hands-on art experiences. Discover Old Hawaii and come away with valuable knowledge about a sustainable way of living, indigenous arts and the hidden side of Lahaina.
Kaanapali History & Legends - On our two-hour Kaanapali scenic adventure, Hawaiian storytellers offer fascinating legends and local lore about Hawaiian myths and mysteries. Walk along the beautiful Kaanapali Beach boardwalk, learning about ancient Hawaiian villages and early 20th century plantation life. As you stroll by picturesque golf course greens, you’ll discover what was once cultivated there, and how warrior chiefs battled for supremacy across the land.
Adult tour prices range from $46 to $150 per person, no extra tax or charges added (we are the educational program arm of a nonprofit Hawaiian cultural organization). Maui Nei tours take place in West Maui. Customized programs for families, student or large groups are available on request.
