The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art is proud to possess the world's largest collection of works by Grant Wood, with a selection of these works on display. During a visit to the CRMA you can view many of his works, and of course a visit to the Grant Wood Studio allows you to step inside one of his greatest creations. Our permanent collection also includes pieces by Marvin Cone, Mauricio Lasansky, Malvina Hoffman, works of ancient Roman art and much more.
Things are always changing at the CRMA. We present a rich array of exhibitions throughout the year. Some are drawn exclusively from our own permanent collection. Others are comprised of a mixture of works from the collection and works borrowed from public and private collections. Still other exhibitions—both organized by the CRMA and by other institutions—are created completely from outside collections. These different types of exhibitions, as well as their subject matter and the time periods covered, are carefully considered in order to present a full and balanced exhibition season every year.
In addition to the galleries filled with artists known both internationally and locally, the CRMA offers several special events each month for all ages and a wonderful gift shop (appealing to the art lover in all of us!).
