Longue Vue House and Gardens

Longue Vue House and Gardens is a multifaceted historic estate featuring a world-class house museum and eight acres of stunning gardens that include an unparalleled collection of Louisiana irises and an interactive Discovery Garden for children of all ages. Longue Vue is open seven days a week for tours, special occasions, and educational and community programs.

Edith and Edgar Stern created a legacy of philanthropy, education, and appreciation of arts and culture that exists today through Longue Vue. Together with Ellen Biddle Shipman, William and Geoffrey Platt, and Caroline Dormon, they created this beautiful estate for all to enjoy. Completed in 1942, Longue Vue is considered a WWII era home, and contains original furnishings and decor of that time period. The gardens showcase several major water features, an array of stunning designs, a beautiful collection of native plants, sculpture, and are the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

Longue Vue is open for individual and group tours daily. Parking is complimentary for guests. The house contains a functioning elevator, and select areas of the garden are wheelchair accessible. Individual tickets can be purchased in the gift shop, and tours begin every hour starting at 10:00 with the last tour at 4:00pm. Please contact us for group tours.
