The Accokeek Foundation at Piscataway Park, a nonprofit organization founded in 1957 to preserve the view from George Washington's Mount Vernon, serves the public by providing educational programs about land conservation, historic preservation, sustainable agriculture.
The stewardship of Piscataway Park includes the management and operation of a living history farm, certified-organic farm, heritage breed livestock, as well as providing casual outdoor recreation along the Potomac River.
Walk the nature trails, observe Eastern bluebirds and Yellow Goldfinches, watch as the Tiger and Zebra swallowtails dance across the meadows, enjoy a day at the park, buy fresh, organic produce, volunteer with us, or attend an event.
Support for the Foundation is provided through federal and state funding, private foundations and grants, corporate and individual donors, the United Way, and memberships. Program fees also provide operating support for the Foundation.
