Downtown Lake Orion is a Nationally Registered Historic District located in Oakland County, in the northern Detroit suburbs. Founded in the 1800's, the Village of Lake Orion has managed to preserve the best of it's past, while defining it's future - benefiting it's residents and visitors.
During the early 1900's, the Village of Lake Orion became a popular vacation destination for Metro-Detroiters seeking rest and relaxation on the shores of beautiful Lake Orion. The quiet and natural beauty was punctuated with sounds of Chataqua style music and even an island amusement park.
Rural beginnings paved the way for what is seen today: a wide variety of historic homes and a quaint but well rounded shopping district.
