Located in Grand Haven on the beautiful shore of Lake Michigan, Loutit District Library is a public library serving the cities of Grand Haven & Ferrysburg, and the townships of Grand Haven, Robinson & the portion of Port Sheldon Township in the Grand Haven Public Schools system.

If you need assistance getting started or if you have questions, stop by the Adult Information Desk by the Columbus Avenue entrance any time the library is open and a staff member will be happy to help. - Public Computer and Printing
Public computers are available in the Public Computing Room on the lower level of the library. Printing is available from any of the computers for 15 cents per page. For further information, see our Internet Access page.

- Reading History
Within the Lakeland Library Cooperative catalog you can keep track of what you read. Begin by accessing My Account and clicking on the Reading History button on the right side of the screen. Then click on the Opt In button on the left side of the screen. The system will start logging what you check out. You can opt out at any time if you change you mind.

Loutit District Library is committed to preserving the unique history of the Tri-Cities, which includes Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg and surrounding areas.
We have a large collection of materials for your local history/genealogy research and computer stations with multiple databases to explore. Ottawa County is rich with Dutch heritage! Our staff is familiar with the peculiarities of Dutch genealogy and can help with your research. We look forward to helping you find those missing links in your family tree. “A-HA” moments are our specialty!

Pronunciator
The world’s largest language-learning service, with 80 languages, ESL for 50 non-English languages, and over 3,750 available courses. Learn how to actually speak a foreign language with the help of pronunciation analysis, virtual coaches, and simulated conversations using your computer, tablet, or mobile device.
Mango Languages
Mango offers access to 60 foreign language courses and 17 English courses taught completely in the user’s native language. In addition to traditional language courses, Mango also offers the opportunity to learn through foreign film with Mango Premiere™ and access to a variety of specialty mini courses, like Pirate, Medical Spanish and romance courses.
Basic ESL
Basic ESL improves an individual’s listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a simple to follow, and instructionally proven curriculum.
Students learn English quickly and effectively on relevant topics including: family, home, school and many other topics. In each lesson students learn key vocabulary and how to use that vocabulary in conversation.

Our staff is happy to assist you with your research, whether in person, by phone, or via email. If you are unable to come to the library, we can email, mail, or fax information to you, but if your research requires a great deal of staff time and postage, we will charge a fee.
