Mt Holiday Ski Resort & Recreation Area

Mt. Holiday was originally founded in 1949 when a group of local businessmen obtained permission to construct a ski run on state-owned land. The area was created using volunteer hours, services and donations. In 1985, the area was purchased by Warren and Sue Brosch, who added two chairlifts, a tube run and terrain park. After Warren’s death in 1999, Sue Brosch placed the area up for sale. In response to the concern that the area would be sold and developed, a volunteer group formed Mt. Holiday, Inc., a nonprofit corporation to purchase the area. To date, Mt. Holiday is one of the last non-profit ski areas left in the United States which does not receive federal, state or local tax support. Mt. Holiday operates strictly on donations, grant monies and revenues.
Mt. Holiday offers a wide variety of activities for both Summer and Winter seasons. Whether you are a pro or novice, you can hit the snow covered slopes for some skiing and boarding or simply bring the pack to enjoy a couple rides down our Tube Run. If you prefer to gain experience before hitting the hill, you can seek out our Ski School for private or group lessons. And after you work up an appetite, you can gorge and relax at our T-Bar restaurant located within the Lodge, which provides a full menu with kid friendly meals. If your visit happens during the warmer months, you can enjoy a thrilling soar through the trees on our 10-Station Zip Line Tour. Need liquid courage? Our T-Bar also offers adult beverages to help to get over that fear of heights as well as daily specials and live music on the weekends.
With the space available within and surrounding the Lodge, Mt. Holiday serves as an excellent event location for birthday/Christmas parties, weddings, group meetings, fundraisers, and much more. An event coordinator and catering options can be provided for those looking to keep everything in-house. Our annual events inspire great community involvement and promote healthy lifestyles. These events include, but are not limited to, our Dinner in the Hills fundraiser, the Great Pumpkin Dash, and the Mud, Sweat, & Beers bike race.
For more information on what Mt. Holiday has to offer you and your family, please visit our website or give us a call. We here at Mt. Holiday hope to see you out on the hill soon!
