Your Visit to Lakeside Nature Center
Everyone enjoys free admission to our nature center which features live animal displays, and hands-on activities. See hawks and owls up close. Learn to identify Missouri’s venomous snakes. Watch native song birds and butterflies visit the feeders in our wildflower gardens. Hike our nature trails and discover the wonders of local habitats. Come enjoy the natural world in the heart of Kansas City.
Our Programs
Teachers work with naturalists to design a wildlife program and outdoor hike for their students.
Opportunities for Boy Scouts include individualized badge days, Tiger Cub achievements and Webelo badges. Girl Scout opportunities include Daisy, Junior and Brownie badges.
Young children enjoy Mother Nature Reads every Saturday at 10:00.
Take a Hike with a Naturalist on Saturdays during warm weather. The schedule is on our website
