Tongue River Winery is the only commercial winery in the eastern 3/4 of Montana with an attached vineyard. Open year round, we welcome visitors who would like to taste wine, learn about winemaking, stroll through our vineyard, or simply sit and enjoy a glass.
Winner of numerous awards, Tongue River Winery specializes in wines produced only from local, regional fruits, thus representing the kind of fruit and grape wines that will grow in southeast Montana. Our medal winning wines include wines made from grapes, chokecherries, yellow chokecherries, haskaps, apples, pears, sour pie cherries, sweet cherries, wild plums, yellow raspberries, red raspberries, rhubarb, red, black and white currants, aronia and others. Generally about 25 different wines are available, from dry to sweet and everything in between.
We are a small, family-owned and operated business, and are delighted to knock off our labors to spent time with you. Because we live on-site and have lots of work to do, we keep no regular hours, but our phone numbers are posted prominently outside the building, and we WILL come and spend time with you when you call. Bob has made wine for 50 years, and son Josh (now the head winemaker!) has perfected wines for over 6 years.
